Opportunities for Educational Group Visits to Glenlivet Estate
Introduction
The largest agricultural property owned by the Crown Estate, Glenlivet Estate encompasses an area of nearly 90 square miles. It is a landscape of upland glens and heather covered hills interspersed with farms, forests and woodlands, lying at the north eastern fringe of the Cairngorm National Park. The Estate is a carefully managed mix of agriculture, forestry, sporting and tourism, and represents a working example of integrated, rural land use illustrating many of the current issues facing land managers and remote Highland communities.
A wide variety of schools and higher education groups enjoy visits to the Estate each year and a number of visitor and educational facilities and services are available. The estate is able to offer excellent opportunities for schools and groups in the fields of environmental education and land management studies. Leaflets with full details about opportunities for Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Higher Education groups are available here in .pdf format. (download links)
